Your VPN is a Target: Ivanti Zero-Days Demand Immediate Action

Heads up, folks! The ongoing saga of Ivanti Connect Secure and Policy Secure vulnerabilities just got more intense. CISA has issued an emergency directive, underscoring the severe risk these flaws pose to government agencies and private organizations alike.[1]

This isn’t just another vulnerability; it’s a chain of zero-days being actively exploited in the wild. We’re talking about CVE-2023-46805 (an authentication bypass) and CVE-2024-21887 (a command injection flaw), which, when chained, allow unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable appliances. More recently, Ivanti disclosed CVE-2024-21888 (a privilege escalation) and CVE-2024-21893 (a server-side request forgery), further expanding the attack surface and potential for complete system compromise.[2] These flaws impact Ivanti Connect Secure (versions 9.x, 22.x) and Ivanti Policy Secure. Initially, state-sponsored actors were the prime suspects, but now multiple threat groups are leveraging these exploits for widespread network infiltration.

The critical takeaway is that patching alone might not be sufficient. Due
